Hartley Wintney Neighbourhood Plan Referendum success

Braving the somewhat uncharitable weather, residents of Hartley Wintney voted overwhelmingly on the 7th October to support the proposals contained in the Neighbourhood Plan to shape future development in the Parish. In fact, 25% of those registered voted with 91.6% out of 1178 voting in favour of the Plan

Speaking about the referendum result, Chris Farrance, Chairman of Hartley Wintney Parish Council, said: “This is about actively engaging our community in the future of Hartley Wintney. I would like to warmly thank the members of our Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group for all their hard work, our consultant Liz Bourne and her team and the Parish Councillors for their support. A particular thanks to the many members of the community who engaged in the consultations that were carried out during the development of the Plan.’

The next and final step is for the Plan to be formally ‘made’ by Hart District Council after which they will be bound to take account of the Plan when considering planning applications that relate to the Parish.
